Book Week Scotland and Nutmeg magazine – the Scottish football quarterly – present author of the acclaimed Inshallah United: A Story of Faith and Football, Nooruddean Choudry (also known as @BeardedGenius on Twitter) and fellow writer Daniel Gray for 90 minutes of funny and moving conversation about football and life.
In this interview and Q&A event, Nooruddean will explain to Daniel what it was like to attend football as a Muslim Asian and watch from the unforgiving terraces of the late 1980s and early 1990s while following his beloved Manchester United. Their conversation will take a mazy dribble through football, faith and the Britain the pair – born two years apart – grew up in.
Nooruddean will also be invited to select and discuss a player, match, object and snack to donate to a fictional football museum. Attendees are invited to contribute their own museum thoughts and even bring along memorabilia items for discussion.
