Is there someone you know who inspires children and teens to get into reading? If so, please nominate them for our brand-new Reading Champion Awards, in association with Browns Books, and they could win £250 worth of new books.

The Reading Champion Awards want to recognise the reading role models out there whose fantastic work inspires others to read for pleasure. 

What does a Reading Champion do? Well, it could be anything that helps young people catch the reading bug. To help give you an idea, here are a few examples of what they might do:

Who can I nominate?

  • Nominees must be working in a professional capacity with children and young people in schools, libraries, residential settings, youth groups/organisations in Scotland
  • The good practice examples given in the nomination form must have taken place in the past 12 months
  • You may nominate yourself or a person you work with

How is the winner selected?

An independent panel will read over your nominations before selecting our Reading Champions who will each win a £250 voucher to buy books from Browns Books – something young readers will really enjoy! Please note, if you are working towards Reading Schools accreditation at your organisation it is likely that your Reading Champion is doing a lot of things that would count towards their nomination.

Each Reading Champion will be celebrated across our website and social media. Not only that, but each winner will be invited to share their experience with other learning professionals in a bid to inspire best practice.
