Skint!: Lottery or kitty?
The activities in this resource will encourage learners to think about the differences between making savings and investments and forms of gambling, such as the lottery or bingo, as well as how savings work and ideas for how to increase earnings and reduce spending.

- Begin by reading Skint! up to page 49 as a group.
- Now use the discussion points to facilitate a conversation about saving versus gambling and the different ways in which we can save money.
- Then ask your learners to complete the related saving plans activity sheet to come up with ideas for saving money, how to increase their earnings and how they can reduce what they spend.
