Read It Forward 2025

We are delighted to be partnering with Bookshop.org(this link will open in a new window) for Read It Forward, an initiative which sees 10% of every children’s book sale in February 2025 donated to Scottish Book Trust and BookTrust. The purchase of every children’s, middle-grade and young adult title – from timeless classics to brand new releases and pre-orders – will support our work sharing the life-changing magic of books with those who need it most.

We are very grateful to our two inspiring Read It Forward ambassadors: best-selling children’s authors Catherine Rayner and Nadine Aisha Jassat.

Now in its second year, Read It Forward aims to inspire a love of reading in the next generation, raising funds for charities who work children from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds. Buying books from Bookshop.org also supports hundreds of brilliant independent bookshops in communities across the UK, helping them to continue to thrive.

In 2024, Read It Forward raised money to support over 1,000 families, providing books to the children who need them the most, and received incredible support from authors, illustrators, publishers, influencers and beyond.

“Scottish Book Trust is delighted to be joining BookTrust and Bookshop.org for Read It Forward in 2025,” said our CEO, Marc Lambert. “Funds raised will help us support young families facing challenging circumstances through our specialist early years outreach programme.”
