Inclusive Stories Festival
Our Inclusive Stories Festival is a series of fully funded events with a diverse range of authors, illustrators and stories to inspire a love of reading for all.
The festival is open to both mainstream and special education settings in Scotland. The videos include authors reading from their books, leading activities and talking about the importance of disabled and neurodiverse representation in children and young people's books.
All pre-recorded events were captioned. All live events were recorded with captions available at a later date.
Festival schedule
The festival took place 6–10 February and we were delighted to host online events with the following authors:
- James Catchpole (ages 5+)
- Maya MacGregor (ages 13+)
- Ben Andrews (ages 5+)
- Rebecca Burgess (ages 8+)
- Adam Hills (ages 8+)
Sensory Storytelling
The Inclusive Stories Festival is part of Sensory Storytelling which brings the magic of author visits and the many benefits of books and sensory storytelling to pupils in Scotland's special schools.
Sensory Storytelling is generously supported by the Mohn Westlake Foundation.
