Prepare to bring the magic of books and art to your school with the Inclusive Stories Tour featuring the talented Deaf illustrator Lucy Rogers.

This inspiring event will empower students to see themselves reflected in the stories they read, focusing on inclusive representation in children's literature.

Lucy will kick off the visit by sharing her journey as an illustrator and her passion for creating books that celebrate diversity and inclusion. She will discuss her experiences growing up and attending mainstream schools and how they shaped her understanding of the importance of positive disability representation in literature.

Students will be captivated by a lively British Sign Language (BSL) storytime, encouraging the use of BSL in schools. They will then unleash their creativity in a fun draw-along session, where Lucy will guide them in bringing characters to life. Pupils will also have the chance to ask Lucy all of their book and art-related questions.

This is an unforgettable opportunity to inspire young learners to embrace reading, art and the value of inclusion.

Don’t miss out on the chance to host Lucy Rogers at your school as part of the Scottish Book Trust's Inclusive Stories Tour – apply now!
