Ready

On the border between work and normal life
is adventure.
Space opens up to fresh air
as I leave the city behind.
I breathe deep,
No responsibilities.
It’s just me.
Taking in the flowers and birds,
the sheep in the fields,
feeling the sun on my skin.
If I had a pillow I’d sleep outside,
in the thyme,
outside of time,
counting sheep.
It’s so peaceful, it feels like a different world.
Suddenly, my spirit speeds up,
seeking an epic adventure.
Excited what I’ll find in that new world,
Fascinated by the challenges ahead
and friendships awaiting,
I hit the road,
ready for the unknown.
