What makes the candle sputter?

Dreaming into reality before the candle goes out
memories, precious memories

My grandmother is singing across the table
spilled wine
   wind blowing
breathing heavily with excitement

a whisper on the wind
a leak in the roof
a crack in the floor
a train thunders past the window
an argument that’s go on so long
 neither know how or why it started
