Oh! I have to rush this is my big FIVE-O,
I need to collect my birthday cake,
I got organised and booked it two days ago,
I told them in advance so they had time to bake,
I go out of the house, it’s only 5 minutes to walk, pronto!
I meet Ann and Dee outside so we chat, what a mistake!
I don’t have time to talk: my birthday can’t be a fiasco.
I walk faster towards the café… the door is closed, what a heartbreak!
NO! It’s my big FIVE-O, I can’t have my cake tomorrow!
It needs to be today, what an earthquake,
Don’t panic! Stop your sorrow,
But there is no remake,
I feel so low,
If I didn’t stop and chat for a break,
They would have been open, but I arrive too late, why so?
I have such a headache!
What’s that noise in the car park? The owners! BINGO.
They recognise me and re-open, just to give me my fruitcake.
How grateful I am, they know it is for my big FIVE-O.
I feel so relieved to have my birthday cake,
I now walk back home, I am so slow, like an escargot,
Must be the stress, I am such a silly cupcake!
Or a foolish weirdo!
Let’s forget it! The main thing is that I now have my birthday cake,
For my big FIVE-O.
