From a wish,
to a kiss,
to a promise which came true.
From a hope,
a tiny heartbeat,
sweet love from me to you.
Peace and pure perfection,
wrapped up snug and warm and tight.
How on earth shall I ever make this world for you quite right?
Plastic faces,
leaving traces,
all the way out to the sea.
Smog filled skies,
sweet little lies,
from darkest powers that be.
Rest assured,
more you deserve,
than greed-filled war and anger and hate.
I hope we’re not too late.
Dragons perched,
from where they lurch,
at innocent poor hearts; so pure.
Hoarding, stealing, raging, taking,
more and more and more.
We can’t go on like this,
lavish ignorant chosen bliss,
I implore,
we must do more,
for those we claim that we
adore.
I hope we are not too late.
You are joy,
you are light,
you fill my life with such delight.
Maybe you could make things right.
See us through this stormy night.
My heart, so heavy, as I write.
This shouldn’t be your fight.
But guilty evil's taken flight,
so, together we shall fight,
to heal the earth to make it right.
This is our fateful plight.
I only hope we are not
too
late.
