Hydrophobia

Author: Jennie Murray
Year: Hope

A fierce thirst,

And a consummate fear of water.

The unknown depths,

The undertow.

Unable to do more than sip,

When all I long to do is

Throw my head back,

Open my mouth, laughing,

Eyes dancing, arms wide

And drink,

Gulping, gasping.

Until, sated,

I turn to you, kissing your mouth.
