Mocking Seaguls

Author: Peter Burns
Year: Hope

Mocking Seaguls pass me by.
Ravens pose on garden fence
Swans loftily
Glide across the eye
Trees in bud unfold
Pollinators cross
Back and Forth
Crops escape the earth
And explore.
The Sun each morning yawns
Then
Traverses over ahead
Allowing plants to grow
Prior
To resting in their beds.
Birds construct
Their brooding nests
Gardens open
To feed all bugs
Considered beneficial
Or pest
While we hibernate
In an artificial Season
As best we can
Awaiting germination to renew,
Begin again
And grow in harmony,
As one,
Under a common Sun,
To Hope,
Since Lockdown begun.
