Is it major or minor? Is it sharp or flat?

We change the keys

Of our own melodies.

If hope is a rose, is it blooming or fading?

Is it wild or contained? Pure white or stained?

I hold the petals.

You let them go.

If hope is a bubble, is it large or small?

Does it fly or die? Is it solo or joined?

Mine is a rainbow.

Yours is blue.

Your hope and mine are different hues.
