Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer (sensory)

It's never too early to introduce actions into songs and rhymes with babies. For this song, hold up three fingers as you sing 'three little men in a flying saucer'. For 'flew round the world one day' you can hold baby and turn round in a circle, and make a funny noise by sticking your tongue out! Shake your head at 'they looked left and right' and make a sad face when 'they didn't like the sight'. Finally, hold one finger up as 'one man flew away'.

Move around the room or go around in a circle as you sing 'three little men in a flying saucer, flew round the world one day'. They looked left and right (shake head) but they didn't like the sight (make a sad face / or wag fingers) so one man flew away (stretch out arms). (Repeat).

Children love funny voices and noises! You could use a funny voice to sing the song. You can also introduce more actions: crouch down and hold up three fingers at 'three little men in a flying saucer' then stand up and turn round in a circle when they 'flew round the world one day'. Turn head left, then right at 'they looked left and right' and wag finger at 'but they didn't like the sight'. Stretch out arms and turn round in a circle with one finger in the air for 'so one man flew away'. (Repeat).
