Tha Duaisean nan Sgrìobhadairean Ùra Gàidhlig 2025 – prògram bliadhnail air a thabhainn le Comhairle nan Leabhraichean(this link will open in a new window) ann an co-bhonn le Urras Leabhraichean na h-Alba.
Tha e an-asgaidh cur a-steach airson nan duaisean agus gheibhte cosgaisean siubhail gu lèir air ais. Thèid an luchd-buannachaidh a thaghadh le pannail de bhritheamhan. Is mathaid gum faodadh taic a bharrachd a bhith ann do luchd-buannachaidh air a bheil bacaidhean a thaobh a bhith a' gabhail pàirt.
Bidh na Duaisean a’ ruith eadar Am Faoilleach 2025 agus Am Faoilleach 2026. Rè a’ phrògraim gheibh an luchd-buannachaidh:
- duais luach £2,500 an urra, mar thaic airson an cuid sgrìobhaidh mar is iomchaidh dhaibh
- taic leasachaidh cruthachail fa leth, mar eisimpleir, stiùireadh bho sgrìobhadair stèidhichte no eòlaiche eile
- trèanadh ann am margaidheachd, na meadhanan sòisealta agus sgilean taisbeanaidh
- cothrom an cuid obrach a leughadh aig taisbeanadh do luchd-foillseachaidh
- seachdain aig ionad-sgrìobhaidh, far am bi ùine, farsaingeachd agus saorsa airson obair ùr a chruthachadh (a rèir riaghailtean aig an àm)
- àite an-asgaidh air cùrsa 3-latha airson sgilean deasachaidh Gàidhlig
- ballrachd an-asgaidh fad bliadhna aig Comann nan Sgrìobhadairean agus seisean trèanaidh leis a’ chomann
Thèid Duaisean nan Sgrìobhadairean Ùra air adhart ann an 2025 ma gheibh Urras Leabhraichean na h-Alba am maoineachadh a tha a dhìth orra airson an sgeama a ruith. Thèid an t-seachdain-sgrìobhaidh air adhart a rèir riaghailtean agus stiùireadh air siubhal a rèir an t-suidheachaidh aig an àm.

Applications are now closed for the 2025 Gaelic New Writers Awards, an annual programme offered by the Gaelic Books Council(this link will open in a new window) in partnership with Scottish Book Trust. This page is for information only.
Two places are available for new Gaelic writers. The awards are free to apply to, all travel expenses are covered and awardees are chosen by a panel of judges.
The Awards will run from January 2025 to January 2026. During the programme, awardees receive:
- a £2,500 cash award, allowing them to focus on their work
- tailored personal development opportunities, which can include mentoring from writers and industry professionals
- PR, performance and presentation training
- the opportunity to showcase work to publishers and agents
- a week-long retreat offering time, space and the freedom to create new work in idyllic surroundings
- a place on a three-day Gaelic writing and editing course
- a year’s free membership to the Society of Authors as well as an SoA training session
The New Writers Awards will go ahead in 2025 only if Scottish Book Trust secures the funding required to run the programme. The retreat is also subject to circumstances and dependent on any applicable travel restrictions.
