Our Live Literature programmes fund author events and residencies for schools and organisations across Scotland

Are you a school, library, community group or not-for-profit organisation based in Scotland? We have a range of opportunities below to help bring reading and writing to the heart of your community.

Whichever Live Literature option you choose, you'll be working with one of the fantastic authors on our Live Literature Author Directory.

Fully funded sessions open to applications

Thanks to the support of Taylor Wimpey, we can offer fully funded Live Literature sessions to schools based in specific local authorities, taking place on World Book Day and in Spring 2025.

Part-funded sessions – closed to applications

Scottish Book Trust pays over half the fees to run in person or remote author events and sessions in local communities and schools.

ASN school residencies – closed to applications

A fully funded opportunity for ASN schools to work with professional writers, storytellers and creators. ASN schools can also apply for our general school residencies fund and our part-funded sessions. We will update this page when applications reopen.
